Part of the decision to join was the extremely competitive commercial terms offered by the Independence Group

I had been in the travel industry for 26 years when I decided to launch my own business. Having been a General Manager of a very large Homeworking organisation I saw a niche in the market for a small homeworking company, focusing on more support, more respect and more opportunities for its homeworkers. When I looked into starting the business, I considered other consortia but was drawn to the Independence Group due to the 'family business' ethos, something that we want to recreate in Holiday Elite. The experience Hays Travel has of homeworking was also a major benefit for system and process requirements, etc. Commercial terms through Hays Travel are extremely competitive. This was a big part of our decision to join, as the market in which homeworkers sell is very much price led. ABTA and ATOL bonding was obviously essential. The support we have received from the Independence Group has been excellent during our set-up process. There is always someone to call on if you have any problems, yet you retain a certain independence.
